Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge Reflect on Their Favorite Travel Experiences While Promoting Enola Holmes 3
As Enola Holmes 3 prepares to premiere on Netflix, stars Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge have been sharing stories beyond the mystery and adventure of the film. While discussing the newest chapter of the beloved franchise, the two actors opened up about the places around the world that have left the greatest impression on them, revealing how travel has shaped both their personal lives and careers.
After spending years portraying Enola Holmes and Viscount Tewkesbury, Brown and Partridge have become familiar faces on international film sets. Their latest movie took them to Malta, where much of the production was filmed, giving both actors another opportunity to explore a destination rich in history and culture. During an interview for Travel + Leisure’s series Meaningful Places, they reflected on the destinations that continue to hold special meaning for them.
For Millie Bobby Brown, traveling has been a central part of her life since childhood. Growing up while working in the entertainment industry meant moving between countries and experiencing cultures from a very young age. Looking back, she believes those experiences taught her lessons that could never be found in a classroom.
According to Brown, one of the greatest forms of education comes from seeing the world firsthand. Meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their traditions helped her develop a deep appreciation for cultures beyond her own. Rather than simply visiting new places, she values the opportunity to understand how people live, celebrate, and connect with one another.
Among all the destinations she has visited, Mexico City stands out as one of her favorites. Brown praised the city’s vibrant atmosphere, saying it offers an unforgettable combination of exceptional food, lively neighborhoods, and unique shopping experiences. She particularly enjoys exploring vintage stores and discovering local restaurants, describing the city as energetic, welcoming, and full of character.
For Louis Partridge, one memorable destination was Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Ironically, his trip coincided with Carnival, one of the world’s largest and most famous celebrations. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was canceled, leaving the city unusually quiet.
Despite missing the iconic event, Partridge still developed a strong affection for Rio. Instead of dancing in the streets during Carnival, he spent his time relaxing on the beach, humorously recalling that he sat eating Pringles while imagining what the celebrations might normally look like. Even without experiencing the festival itself, he described Rio as one of the most beautiful places he has visited.
Partridge’s love of travel extends well beyond major tourist destinations. One of his favorite adventures came during a solo trip to Thailand, where an unexpected friendship completely transformed his experience.
While exploring the country alone, he met a local fisherman who invited him to help with his daily work. For an entire week, Partridge accompanied the fisherman as he took families out on the water. He assisted with catching fish and later shared meals prepared by the fisherman’s wife each evening.
The actor said the experience remains one of his happiest travel memories because it allowed him to connect with local people in an authentic way rather than simply sightseeing. Living alongside the family for several days gave him a deeper understanding of everyday life in Thailand and created memories he continues to cherish.
Another important chapter in Partridge’s life took place much closer to home but still involved travel. At just 13 years old, he visited a skate park in Santa Barbara, California, where he witnessed a skateboarder performing tricks with remarkable skill and confidence.:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():format(webp)/TAL-header-enola-holmes-3-ENOLAHOLMESMALTA0626-61bae93f6910476fa63ce4703a0a7378.jpg)
The image left a lasting impression on him. He remembered seeing the skater glide effortlessly across the ramps and immediately deciding that he wanted to learn the sport himself. Inspired by that moment, Partridge dedicated the next several years to practicing skateboarding.
His determination eventually led to one of his proudest personal achievements. Returning to London, he set himself the challenge of successfully performing an ollie over the famous South Bank Seven steps, a landmark known among skateboarders. After years of practice, he accomplished the goal and even captured the achievement on video, making it one of his favorite memories.
When discussing destinations connected to work, Partridge also highlighted Italy as one of the countries he enjoys visiting the most. Throughout his acting career, he has filmed several productions in Tuscany, including Jay Kelly, Disclaimer, and Medici.
He praised not only the breathtaking scenery but also the relaxed lifestyle. Long Italian lunches featuring fresh bread, cured meats, and regional specialties became some of his favorite moments during filming. For Partridge, Italy represents a perfect balance between work and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
Both actors acknowledged that international success has also brought unexpected encounters with fans while traveling.
Brown recalled the first time she was recognized in public after becoming famous. The moment happened in Palm Springs, California, and marked the beginning of a completely different experience of traveling. Since then, she has grown accustomed to meeting fans around the world, though she still appreciates every positive interaction.
Partridge experienced a similar milestone in London’s Victoria Station shortly after the first Enola Holmes film premiered. Being recognized by strangers was a completely new experience, but he described the encounter as friendly and memorable.
Interestingly, both stars have also experienced what it’s feels like to meet someone they admire.
Brown fondly remembered meeting Zendaya when she was only around eight years old. At the time, she was a huge fan of Disney Channel’s Shake It Up and couldn’t believe she had the opportunity to meet one of its stars in person.
The encounter took place in Vancouver, where Brown spotted Zendaya at a hotel. Gathering her courage, she approached the actress and politely asked for a photograph. Brown recalled that Zendaya treated her with kindness and warmth, leaving a lasting impression that would later influence the way Brown interacts with her own fans today.
She described Zendaya as one of her earliest role models, someone who demonstrated how meaningful a small act of kindness can be for a young admirer.
Partridge shared his own memorable celebrity encounter, though he chose to keep many of the details private. He revealed that he unexpectedly met actor Jake Gyllenhaal while visiting a sauna in Milan.
Laughing about the unusual setting, Partridge admitted that the story remains one of his favorite travel memories but jokingly refused to elaborate further, allowing the mysterious encounter to remain exactly that—a mystery.
As Enola Holmes 3 arrives on Netflix, both Brown and Partridge continue to balance demanding acting careers with a genuine passion for exploring the world. Their stories demonstrate that travel offers much more than beautiful scenery. Whether discovering local cultures, forming unexpected friendships, pursuing personal passions, or simply enjoying memorable meals, each destination contributes to experiences that shape who they become.
For Brown, travel represents education, empathy, and cultural understanding. For Partridge, it symbolizes adventure, spontaneity, and meaningful human connections. Together, their reflections reveal that some of life’s most valuable lessons are learned not on a film set, but while exploring the world beyond it.
