The Pitt cast knows how to have fun!

Shabana Azeez, 29, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview about the time she pulled an epic prank on Noah Wyle while filming an episode for the second season.

The actress, who plays medical student Victoria Javadi, admits that she once swapped the sizes of the hospital gloves while Wyle was filming a scene, leaving him with a pair that were too small for his hands.

“I shouldn’t have and I was scared for my job for like a week after,” she recalls of the prank.

“Noah’s really good at putting gloves on,” Azeez says of the actor, who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. He has a lot of past experience too, after starring in ER for over a decade. “He’s been doing it for so long that he doesn’t even think about it. He gets them. He knows he’s got two in his hands. He knows the weight of them. He doesn’t need to count them and check.”

“So what I did is I put a bunch of smalls in a box of larges,” she continues. “The look on his face when he put the glove on and it didn’t go exactly where he thought it was going to go was priceless. It felt so good. I immediately ruined the take by laughing too hard.”

However, Wyle didn’t let the prank get in the way of his professionalism. The actor who also executive produces, writes and directs the show, “kept it together,” Azeez remembers.

“He put the gloves on and then threw them away and got a new pair of gloves and they were still smalls. And it happened again,” she says of Wyle’s reaction. “He ran out into the scene and I just was laughing and crying. It was so worth it.”

Season 2 of the hit medical drama follows staff at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center working a 15-hour shift on the Fourth of July. The shift also happens to be Robby’s last one before his three-month sabbatical.

Azeez has shown a new side of her character this season. At one point, Javadi is revealed to be a popular medical influencer known as Dr. J.

PEOPLE previously shared that Azeez was “so excited” to learn of her character’s secret identity.

“Young women have such purchasing power. They’re such an important market in terms of our society. They build culture in a way that other demographics don’t really do, and we need to take them more seriously,” she said. “With Javadi, I really wanted to play her in a way that was like, she’s girly pop, but she’s also smart.”

“To get the social media storyline was really exciting because it’s an opportunity to be like, this TikTok thing is not antithetical to her intelligence. It’s a part of it,” Azeez continued.

The Pitt season 2 finale airs Thursday, April 16 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max.
