Madelyn Cline Reveals Her Dream Summer Plans, Love for Hosting Friends, and Excitement for the Final Season of Outer Banks
Madelyn Cline is fully embracing the feeling of a European summer — even if she is not physically spending the entire season overseas.
The Outer Banks star has revealed that she is determined to make a European getaway with her closest friends happen this summer, despite the difficulties of coordinating everyone’s busy schedules. In the meantime, the actress says she is enjoying a slower, more personal version of summer at home, filled with good food, close friendships, outdoor gatherings, and refreshing drinks.
Speaking with PEOPLE, the 28-year-old actress opened up about her ideal summer lifestyle, her role as the organiser in her friend group, her love of hosting, and her excitement for the final season of Netflix’s hit series Outer Banks.
Planning the Ultimate European Girls’ Trip
Cline admitted that she and her friends have been dreaming about taking a European vacation together for quite some time.
According to the actress, the biggest challenge is not the desire to travel but simply finding a moment when everyone’s schedules line up.
“My friends and I are really committed to the idea of taking a European girls’ vacation together,” she explained.
However, because everyone is constantly travelling for work and personal commitments, organising the trip has proven difficult.
“We’re all here, there, and everywhere,” she said, adding that getting everyone onto the same flight and heading to the same destination is not always easy.
Despite the challenges, Cline remains determined to make the trip happen.
“I’m determined to do it this summer,” she said.
Until that dream vacation becomes a reality, the actress is enjoying the simple pleasures of summer closer to home.
Becoming the Friend Who Hosts Everyone
Cline revealed that she has recently embraced a new role among her friends: the person who brings everyone together.
She joked that having her own place to host gatherings has made her feel like a true adult.
“We’ve really been into grilling,” she shared.
“I feel like I’m an adult now. I have a grill and a place where I can host friends.”
Her recent summer meals have included dishes such as steak and branzino, although she quickly clarified that she is not necessarily the expert handling the grill.
Instead, she joked that she prefers to leave the actual cooking to someone who knows what they are doing.
“When I say grilling, I mean I enjoy letting someone who actually knows how to grill do the grilling, and I provide everything else,” she laughed.
Cline described herself as the person responsible for creating the atmosphere.
“I’m the person who brings the ice, provides the drinks, and mixes the salads,” she said.
She proudly added that making salads is one of her specialties.
Her Perfect Summer Day
For Cline, the ideal summer day is not about extravagant plans or constant travel. Instead, she values quality time with people she cares about.
She described her perfect day as one where she disconnects from technology and focuses completely on enjoying the moment.
Her dream scenario involves turning off her phone, inviting friends over, preparing plenty of food, and spending hours together outside.
She imagines having a charcuterie board, sandwiches, drinks, and a relaxed environment where people can move freely between the house, pool, and outdoor spaces.
The most important part, she said, is simply enjoying each other’s company.
Cline also described herself as someone who enjoys staying home.
“I’m definitely a homebody,” she admitted.
Her favourite activity is hosting her closest friends, making drinks, and creating a comfortable environment where everyone can relax.
A Taste of Summer Inspired by Italy
Cline’s love for summer also connects with her partnership with Sanpellegrino CIAO! Limoncello, a sparkling water flavour inspired by the famous Italian drink.
The actress explained that she immediately loved the product because of both its appearance and flavour.
“The can is so cute,” she said.
Beyond the design, she praised the combination of limoncello flavour with a touch of Sicilian salt, which she believes creates the perfect balance.
“It’s genuinely the perfect summer drink,” Cline said.
She described it as something ideal for casual daytime gatherings and said it captures the atmosphere of the Amalfi Coast.
“It tastes like the Amalfi Coast in a little can,” she explained.
Cline has personally experienced the beauty of the region while travelling for work, including during the filming of projects such as The Map That Leads to You, where she starred alongside KJ Apa.
She said visiting the Amalfi Coast was unforgettable and believes the drink successfully recreates the feeling of an Italian summer evening.
“It feels like a warm Mediterranean night after enjoying a beautiful meal with friends,” she said.

To celebrate the launch of the new flavour, Sanpellegrino is bringing the Italian coastal experience to New York City with a special beach club event.
The CIAO! Limoncello Club will offer guests a chance to experience the brand’s Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere.
The company is also giving fans the opportunity to win $10,000 toward a trip to Italy.
For Cline, the partnership represents everything she loves about summer: friendship, relaxation, travel, and memorable experiences.
Saying Goodbye to Outer Banks
Alongside her summer plans, Cline is preparing for the release of the fifth and final season of Outer Banks.
The upcoming season will mark the end of the journey for Sarah Cameron and the rest of the Pogues after years of adventures, mysteries, and emotional moments.
Cline promised fans that the final chapter will deliver a memorable conclusion.
“It has a pretty epic ending,” she said.
The actress hopes viewers will enjoy the final adventure with the group and feel satisfied with how the story concludes.
“I really hope people are excited for one last ride with the Pogues,” she said.
Although the series is ending, Cline hopes it will remain something fans return to over time.
She said she wants the show to become the kind of series people can revisit repeatedly and continue enjoying years later.
Supporting Friends and Celebrating Creativity
Outside of acting, Cline recently appeared in her friend Sabrina Carpenter’s music video for the song “House Tour.”
The video featured Cline, Carpenter, and Margaret Qualley playing characters involved in a glamorous storyline inside a Los Angeles mansion.
Cline described the experience as a celebration of friendship and creativity.
“It felt like two full days of us running around and capturing girlhood,” she said.
She praised Carpenter’s talent and expressed how grateful she was to be included.
“She is incredibly talented,” Cline said.
“I’m so lucky to be her friend and watch her work.”
The actress added that being invited into Carpenter’s creative world was a special experience.
